It’s Not Arrogance — It’s Identity

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me…” — Luke 4:18 (NLT)

When I first began to write It’s My Call, I hesitated over the title.
Wasn’t it a bit bold to say It’s My Call? Wouldn’t some people think it sounded self-centred or proud?

But the longer I walk with God, the clearer it becomes:
declaring It’s My Call isn’t arrogance — it’s alignment.
It’s not claiming ownership of what belongs to God; it’s agreeing with what He has already spoken over your life.

Identity Before Activity

God’s call always begins with identity.
Before Jesus preached a sermon, healed the sick, or called a disciple, He stood in the synagogue and declared, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.”
He wasn’t boasting — He was agreeing with His Father’s anointing.

In the same way, we aren’t asked to create our calling, only to recognise and walk in it.
We don’t earn the anointing; we acknowledge it.
That acknowledgment takes humility — the kind that says, “If God has called me, I must embrace it”

Humility and Confidence Can Coexist

True humility isn’t pretending we’re less than we are.
It’s standing honestly before God and saying, “Everything I have is Yours — and everything You’ve placed in me, I’ll use for You.”

Confidence in your call doesn’t cancel humility; it completes it.
It’s the quiet assurance that your life is not random, your gifts are not accidental, and your story is not wasted.
When you say It’s My Call, you’re not promoting yourself — you’re positioning yourself.
You’re stepping into the place where your life and God’s intention meet.

The Freedom to Respond

From the garden of Eden to this very moment, God has given us freedom.
He doesn’t force obedience; He invites response.
Each day, He whispers again, “Will you walk in what I’ve placed within you?”

That’s why declaring It’s My Call matters — because it’s our “yes.”
Not a single dramatic moment, but a daily, lived-out willingness:
to hear, to follow, and to become the person of the call.

Reflection

Take a quiet moment to ask yourself:

  • Have I been hesitant to name or acknowledge what God has placed on my life?

  • Do I mistake humility for hiding?

  • What would it look like today to say, “It’s My Call,” not with pride, but with peace?

You’re not being arrogant when you embrace your anointing.
You’re simply recognising who you are — and who you’re becoming — in Christ.

“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit.” — John 15:16 (NLT)

  1. Thank you very much Sir!
I when through “it’s My call” the introduction I read has really blessed me.
I was in phase were I was just hating ministry though I love God deeply but, the mission he has called me to do I saw it like a thing of restrictions and complications.
I spent hours and days reading the word of God but going for and accepting the mission I was not ready for ministry.
I have started again my training where I stopped to be a better leader.

One thing that draw my intention is this: God has given us freedom.
He doesn’t force obedience; He invites response.
    Thank you for this.
God not forcing me if I really Love i will obey him without problem.
God bless you Sir for the work you are doing for the body of Christ.
